Wilmington Community Evangelical Church [WCEC-威明頓主恩堂] is searching for an Assistant Pastor in Chinese Ministry who is called and burdened for the evangelism and spiritual growth of college students and young adults. The Assistant Pastor needs to promote the development and growth of campus ministry, young professional ministry, and young family ministry. This position will be supported and supervised by the pastor of the Chinese Ministry of WCEC, including annual evaluation.

Founded in 1981, WCEC is a bilingual (Mandarin and English) and bicultural church dedicated to the establishment of God’s kingdom among the Chinese and related communities in northern Delaware and neighboring Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.  About 250 people regularly attend Sunday worship services, including about 50 people in the English Ministry.  Average attendance of weekly campus ministry in the vicinity of the University of Delaware is about 15, of weekly young professional ministry at WCEC is about 25, and of monthly young family ministry is about 20.  For more information about the church, please visit our website:  www.wcec.church

The vision of WCEC is “Mission and Church Planting 宣教与拓植”. Two churches have been planted: West Chester Chinese Evangelical Church (威徹斯特主恩堂) in West Chester, Pennsylvania, and New Castle Chinese Evangelical Church (新城主恩堂) in New Castle, Delaware, in the year of 2000 and 2007, respectively. At present, both churches are developing and growing steadily.

 General Qualifications

· Called by God to be a pastor

· Has calling and passion to serve, care, accompany, and shepherd the young generation

· In accordance with the requirements in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9

· Evangelical faith and practice

· Master of Divinity or equivalent degree/work experience

· God-inspired, self-motivated, and teamwork spirit

· Fluent in Mandarin and conversational English 

General Responsibilities

· Assist the pastor of the Chinese Ministry of WCEC

· Serve WCEC-related campus ministry, young professional ministry, and young family ministry

· Preach and teach

· Lead and serve , including lead discipleship training for young believers

· Shepherd and care, by building personal relationships with the younger generation

· Mission and gospel outreach
